Anthony Lisi, DC




Anthony Lisi is the Director of Chiropractic Services for the Veterans Health Administration (VA). In this role he oversees all national programmatic issues related to the integration of chiropractic services into the VA healthcare system. He manages the ongoing assessment and expansion of clinical services, and has recently coordinated the implementation of the first federally-funded residency training program for chiropractors. Previously, in 2004 he became the first chiropractor appointed to the medical staff of the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, where he developed processes for integrating hospital-based clinical services and interprofessional clinical education for CIH and traditional medical trainees. He is currently the Chiropractic Section Chief at the VA Connecticut facility and is also an Associate Research Scientist at the Yale Center for Medical Informatics, Yale University School of Medicine, and Associate Professor of Clinical Sciences at the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic. He is also a member of the Clinical Practice Guidelines Development Committee of the North American Spine Society, and serves on multiple national committees related to chiropractic care and healthcare quality. Dr. Lisi received a BA from Fordham University, his DC degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic West, and has been in continuous clinical practice since 1996. He has authored or co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications and presented numerous abstracts at scientific conferences throughout the U.S. and Canada on topics including low back pain management, spinal manipulation, interprofessional education, and chiropractic services. Dr. Lisi received the American Chiropractic Associations’ 2015 Academician of the Year award, and the 2017 Chiropractor of the Year award.
