News 13 Orlando & Bay News 9 Tampa

Accomplished journalist, producer and television host Scott Fais doesn’t slow down often. Scott travels across the Sunshine State telling unique stories that viewers remember. He’s also made a name for himself covering every major theme park attraction opening in the Orlando and Tampa market since 2003. From climbing the drop tower at Busch Gardens, to spending the night on Disney’s private island, Scott’s stories are innovative and original. But it’s not all cotton candy and sunshine. Scott is also known for his ability to cover the big stories, from hurricanes to rocket launches. To date, Scott has earned 10 Associated Press Awards and multiple Emmy nominations, clinching four wins. His first Emmy nomination detailed the love affair between an 80-year-old park guest and the “Tower of Terror” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Society of Professional Journalists also honored Scott with the Green Eyeshade Award, naming him the leading Feature Reporter on TV in the Southeast United States. Yet, Scott will tell you he is most proud of the theme park-based philanthropy event he helped develop for Give Kids the World. Before beginning his career in journalism, Scott started in the mailroom at Cedar Point Amusement Park/Resort in Sandusky, Ohio. He spent additional summers working at “The Roller Coaster Capital of the World” in Ride Operations, Live Entertainment and General Services. Always traveling, Scott earned his college degree by way of London, England, Washington, D.C. and finally Otterbein University. While in college, Scott spent a semester studying film and environmental science at Froebel College in London (where he also spent weekends traveling to theme parks). Earlier this autumn, Scott went behind-the-scenes at admirable parks like Europa Park and Alton Towers and toured the iconic Mack Rides factory in Germany. He continues to share a passion for design and the creative process at work in the amusement industry.
