Maya joined the wind industry in 2010 working as a wind turbine performance and reliability engineer. In her current role as Mechanical Engineering Specialist, she is responsible for supporting wind farm O&M by conducting root cause analysis of major failures, predicting remaining useful life of major components, detecting under-performing turbines, and implementing reliability-centered maintenance. Previously, Maya worked as a Blade Engineer conducting root cause analyses and large-scale correctives at MHI and before that, she held the position of Senior Wind Turbine Performance & Reliability Engineer at EDP Renewables where she implemented a fleet-wide blade inspection and maintenance program. Prior to her wind experience, Maya worked in aerospace building and analyzing structural and thermal finite element models of satellite composite components and structures. Maya has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and a Master's of Science degree through Purdue University with a focus on mechanical and aerospace engineering.
