Youngnam Hwang, Ph.D. has been the leader of In-Memory Inference Project at Samsung Electronics since 2017 with responsibility for investigating memory-based AI accelerators. The project team is currently designing the architecture for DRAM-based inference engine. Hwang joined Samsung Electronics at 2000 and have contributed to developments of DRAM, PRAM, and MRAM until 2016. He has succeeded in fully integrating PRAM in 2003 for the first time worldwide and received Samsung’s Future Creator Award in 2009 for making a remarkable progress on PRAM. Hwang received a Ph.D degree in Physics from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. He has authored more than 20 publications in journal and conference proceedings and 20 patents.
