Paul Zankowski currently serves as the senior advisor to the USDA Office of the Chief Scientist and in this role he advises the USDA's Chief Scientist and the Secretary of Agriculture in the areas of plant health and production, and plant products. Paul has over 25 years of experience in intellectual property protection, agriculture biotechnology regulation, and plant variety development. His expertise is in leadership on international and domestic intellectual property matters, management of agricultural biotechnology regulatory affairs, and development of strategies for plant variety development and improvement. The Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) provides leadership and coordination to ensure that research supported by, and scientific advice provided to the Department and external stakeholders is held to the highest standards of intellectual rigor and scientific integrity.
