Krys Rootham is Vice President of Operations at Acciona Energy. He is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of Acciona’s renewable portfolio consisting of 11 Wind Projects and one Concentrated Solar facilities that produce a combined total of 894 MW of electricity. Before joining Acciona Energy in 2014, Rootham served as Managing Director of Wind Generation for NRG/Edison Mission Group and as Operations and Maintenance Director for BP Wind Energy. Prior to those assignments he was Wind Service Director for Siemens Energy in the Americas. Rootham began his career in 1987 at Westinghouse Electric Corp, first as a field service engineer and then a generator design engineer. He has more than 25 years in the energy industry on a global scale overseeing nuclear, coal and gas turbine activities and thermal turbine combustion. Rootham holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, a B.A. in Physics from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania and earned an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh – Katz Graduate School of Business. He lives in Naperville, Illinois.
