Buck is project scientist at Olsson Associates in Oklahoma and wildlife biologist with more than 14 years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance and natural resource management. He holds an Endangered Species Act Section 10 permit for more than a dozen species including American Burying Beetle, Northern Long-eared bat, Indiana bat, and numerous mussel and fish species in USFWS Region 2, 3, and 6. Additionally, Buck maintains associated state permits in Kansas and Oklahoma for state listed species, including being one of two permit holders for the Leopard Darter in Oklahoma. Utilizing his expertise in endangered species, Buck develops protocols and conducts field surveys for protected species; is lead author on biological assessments; and assisting clients with environmental permitting for a variety of markets, including energy projects across the Midwest. He is the president-elect for Oklahoma Renewable Energy Council and an executive board member for the Oklahoma Clean Lakes and Watershed Association. Prior to his position at Olsson Associates, he worked for the Environmental Protection Agency and served almost a decade with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation as statewide coordinator for the Environmental program and lead Endangered Species Biologist.
