I am a retired Deputy Chief and 33-year veteran of the FDNY with extensive experience in Manhattan and the Bronx. I was the incident commander at hundreds of fires in New York City and lecture throughout the country. I've written numerous Fire Engineering articles and an FDNY memoir, "Notes From the Fireground".
