Claire Burch is interested in coupled human and natural systems. She integrates a social science framework with resource management via environmental sustainability principles and applies this to work related to coupled human and natural systems. Her research applications include environmental perception and valuation conceptualization as well as community engagement in sustainable development implementation, within the realm of natural resource conservation. At the University of Oklahoma, she is a teaching assistant for Fundamentals of GIS. I am also assisting with research related to utilizing ecological niche modelling applications for spatial epidemiology work via computer programming and modeling as well as other applied GIS work. She has a Bachelor’s degree in zoology and animal biology from Miami University, and is pursuing her Master’s degree in environmental sustainability at the University of Oklahoma.
