Kasem Cornelius is an Operations Consultant with Blue Ridge Services, Inc. Kasem grew up in the solid waste recycling industry, and since joining BRS in 2015 has worked with municipal and privately-owned solid waste operations to improve operational efficiency and safety. His experience includes numerous landfills, transfer stations, MRFs, and collections operations in 11 states across the US. As manager of BRS’s safety division, Kasem helped create the SHERPA program. This program is focused on developing practical and comprehensive planning tailored to the solid waste industry. Kasem is the Safety Ambassador for SWANA’s Central California Sierra Chapter, is a SWANA Certified Manager of Transfer Station Systems, and an OSHA Authorized Construction Outreach Trainer.
