FAA Air Traffic Organization, Emerging Technologies Team


John works on the FAA Emerging Technologies Team with responsibilities including developing and coordinating air traffic policy/procedures involving UAS. He also serves on several international groups related to UAS. Prior to coming to the FAA, John served 22 years as an air traffic controller in the U.S. Army in positions including multiple tours as an ATC facility manager; Chief of Aviation Operations Instruction at the Aviation Leadership Academy, and as an Army Representative to the FAA. John holds a master’s degree in Aviation and Operations Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is pursuing an additional master’s degree in International Relations.
