Gregory Shearer is a researcher and software engineer with ICF. Mr. Shearer focuses on challenges in the cyber security domain, in particular the application of machine learning techniques to security analytics in several areas. Mr. Shearer has worked primarily with the United States Army Research Lab, in a variety of areas from 3-D data visualization studies to on-vehicle defense concepts. A major area of focus has been on integrating machine learning agents to work with the human analyst to improve the effectiveness of both parties. Mr. Shearer has presented research at several conferences, including the following: Framework for Dynamic Threat Scoring of Cyber Infrastructure presented at MORS 2015, Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDPS) Alert Prioritization through Supervised Learning at NATO S&T IST-145 Specialists' Meeting on Predictive Analytics and Analysis in the Cyber Domain 2017, and Integrating Human Knowledge in a Semi-Autonomous Prioritization System: An Approach for Improving Network Intrusion Detection Efficiency at ICCRTS Information Central Conference 2018. Mr. Shearer holds a B.S. in Information Assurance Engineering from Capitol Technical University, Maryland, as well as CSSLP and Security+ certifications.
