Daniel Abreu




Daniel F. Abreu serves as the Deputy Associate Director of Security Programs within the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. In this capacity, Daniel is responsible for overseeing the execution of innovative programs aimed at enhancing the security and resilience of the Nation’s critical infrastructure, with specific emphasis on soft targets and crowded places. These programs enhance public and private sectors’ capabilities to mitigate a range of risks, including those posed by active shooters, unmanned aircraft systems, insider threat, vehicle ramming, complex coordinated attack, and others. Since joining the Department in 2009, Daniel has served in various other capacities where he provided strategic leadership and counsel during the execution of the organization’s mission, ensuring alignment with corresponding presidential policy directives, executive orders, and national plans. Prior to joining the Department, Daniel served as a consultant for the U.S. House of Representatives, where he provided subject matter expertise to advance continuity of government capabilities. He received a Master of Arts in International Commerce and Policy (2007) and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Politics (2004) from George Mason University.
