Mike Boutet leads AT&T business for the United States Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM), a unified combatant command of the United States Armed Forces responsible for the Indo-Pacific region across the Pacific. He is responsible for identifying, aligning and developing AT&T and partner capabilities to meet Air Force, DoD, Joint and Coalition global operating needs to improve operational availability, cybersecurity, resiliency and cost.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Boutet retired as a colonel after 28 years in the United States Air Force and was the Individual Mobility Augmentee assigned to the 688 Cyberspace Wing at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, overseeing the Air Force Network (AFNET). He held a variety of key leadership positions in the United States including: Headquarters, Pacific Air Forces for Air, Cyber and Space Directorate; Headquarters, Air Force Reserve Command Communications Directorate, Headquarters U.S. Special Operations Command; interim Mission Support Group Commander; and Squadron command; His extensive experience in leading teams that deliver Information Technology, Cyberspace, Space, and Logistics capabilities has made him an acknowledged front runner in charting Air Force cyber and IT strategies and solutions.
The Pacific Air Forces Commander recognized Mr. Boutet for establishing the first Chief Data Officer role and conceiving the strategic plan for cloud, data and analytics. He fielded cutting edge operations and solutions that vastly improved performance while reducing operating costs.
Mr. Boutet earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Southern Illinois University, a master’s degree in Business from Arizona State University and completed the Air War College. He is a member of the board of Hawaii's Armed Forces Electronics and Communication Association. He is also a public speaker and author; his articles have been printed in industry publications and he has spoken at numerous industry events.
