David Douglas Stone is a successful serial tech entrepreneur, a 2012 Mass High Tech All Star, and 2012 Maine Business Person of the Year. Previously, David was the co-founding CEO of CashStar, which catalyzed the shift from plastic to digital gift cards. The company issued $2B value and was acquired for $175M in 2017, one of the largest tech exits in the history of Maine and helped establish Portland Maine as a great location to start companies. David has raised in excess of $50MM in capital and has two successful exits totaling $250M, returning 5X+ to investors. Early in his career, he served as a senior executive in several financial service firms, including American Express. David has been quoted and featured in a wide range of top media outlets including Forbes, Wired, Fortune, The Atlantic, Cable TV and hundreds of top Trade Journals and social media sites. His passion now is to make locally sourced food more widely available to all by removing the considerable cost and complexity in the local food supply chain and digitally connecting grocers with new local suppliers.. David has a B.A. from Tufts University and completed his M.A. from Tufts, MIT, and Harvard University
