Ivan Cooper has designed more than 100 leachate, industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants. He is a graduate of Union College and has a Master’s degree in civil engineering from Northwestern University. He is a P.E. in 13 states and is a Board Certified Environmental Engineer from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers with a Wastewater Treatment Specialty. He is the chair of SWANA’s Leachate Management Committee and serves on the Water Environment Federation’s Industrial Waste Committee. He is an editor for both WEF’s Manuals of Practice on UV Disinfection and the Peracetic Acid Disinfection Manual. Mr. Cooper is the recipient of the 2017 Roy F. Weston Award in recognition of contributions in the field of solid waste technology and management.
