Lee Nester joined CaroMont Health in 2011 as Operations Manager in Environmental Services, responsible for leading a staff of 125 team members in the highly-regulated areas of environmental infection control, waste management and disposal, and housekeeping for the more than 1.2 million square feet that comprises CaroMont Regional Medical Center and the CaroMont Freestanding ED in Mt. Holly. In 2015, during a period of significant and rapid growth for the health system, Mr. Nester was promoted to Director of Property Management, overseeing a portfolio of approximately 25 sites, comprised of 46 practices and over 400,000 square feet. Utilizing his experience in vendor and contract management, Mr. Nester is responsible for all aspects of the property acquisition process, financial and strategic analysis, sourcing of new property/new lease space, lease administration, vendor contract management, space management for the main hospital, and interior wayfinding/exterior signage. In late 2018, Mr. Nester assumed responsibility for the Clinical Technology Services Department within the hospital. As part of this increased role, he is responsible for the evaluation, procurement, and implementation of a fiscally responsible life-cycle management program for clinical technology equipment. Mr. Nester holds a Masters of Business Administration from Gardner-Webb University. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Erskine College, in Due West, South Carolina, where he played basketball for four years and was part of the creation and development of the Students In Free Enterprise (S.I.F.E.) program. Mr. Nester is a member of the Gaston County YMCA Board of Directors, as well as Leadership Gaston Board of Advisors, serving as the Vice Chair.
