MICHAEL SIMMONS is President of Intellivation, LLC, a vacuum coating equipment company he founded in January, 2009. Mike, a licensed Professional Engineer, earned his mechanical engineering degree (BSME) from the University of Idaho where he graduated with honors. During the past 15 years Mr. Simmons has led the development, design, build, and installation of complex manufacturing machinery around the world. Mike has had an exclusive focus on large area vacuum deposition equipment since 2006, leading projects for both in-line sheet-to-sheet and roll-to-roll coaters. In 2014, he launched a novel pilot scale vacuum web coating equipment platform, the Intellivation R2Rä series, to fill a gap in the R2R equipment market.
