Ocean Mist Farms


Chris oversees activities associated with the post-harvest operations of Ocean Mist Farms products; managing the cooling and shipping facilities; overseeing food safety and quality assurance, and value-added operations. Chris’ background is in production agriculture and has enjoyed a career with Ocean Mist Farms for the past fifteen years. Prior to assuming the role of vice president of operations for Ocean Mist Farms, Chris was the production manager for Castroville based See Mist Farms, and Ocean Mist Farms-owned entity, where he managed 5000 acres of cool season vegetables. Chris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Crop Science from California Polytechnic Institute – San Luis Obispo as well as an MBA. He maintains a strong relationship with the university and acts as chairman of the Horticulture and Crop Science Advisory Council where he and industry colleagues help to provide insight into today’s trends and challenges in production agriculture. Chris is also a graduate of the California Ag-Leadership Program – Class 47 as well as a current board alternate for the California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement (LGMA).
