Frank has over 30 years of experience in the supermarket industry. He started in retail as a teenager packing groceries and stocking shelves at his father’s supermarket in the Rockaways in New York- eventually becoming store manager. Later, he managed a number of grocery stores, and opened his own store in 2000. Frank currently owns and operates two Fine Fare Supermarkets in the South Bronx. He has engaged with multiple community partners accounting for his success as a leading healthy retailer in the South Bronx. He has worked directly with City Harvest, the Fresh program administered by NYEDC, Low Income Investment Fund, SoBro, Greater Universal Baptist Church and more recently with the Department of Health “Get the Good Stuff” initiative where his store was chosen as one of only four retailers in the NYC area to offer incentives to consumers to eat more fruits and vegetables. Frank has taken advantage of multiple resources from the micro (Healthy Shopping Tours) to the macro (healthy retail financing) and has been able to create a win/win proposition that benefits the community he services and the stores he operates.
