Lorraine is coordinator of the Ottawa Paramedic Service Peer Support Team, in addition to being a full-time primary care paramedic. She has developed a strong peer support team with minimal resources but management support. Her corporate background has aided in proving the need, usage and effectiveness of their program. In 2014 they added a proactive peer support approach to complement their CISM based program. She is also co-chair of the First Responder Mental Health Network Collaboration bringing together ALL city of Ottawa First Responders. Now with her children grown, she is enjoying the chance to give back to her peers and focus on her own self-care.
