Ms. Hessler is the national Director of Compliance & Risk for Simione Healthcare Consultants, LLC. She has responsibilities for a team of compliance professionals who provide ethics, compliance and risk management services to home health and hospice companies. She is a current member of the Board of Directors for the Texas and New Mexico Hospice Organization, the Chair of the American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA) Health Law and Compliance Section, and a frequent speaker at state and national healthcare and legal conferences. Prior to joining Simione, Ms. Hessler practiced healthcare law for seventeen years representing long term and post-acute care companies. In addition to her degrees in law and nursing, she holds certificates in Health Care Ethics, Compliance, and HIPAA Privacy Compliance. From 2010-2012, Ms. Hessler served as Director of Risk Management for CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe, NM and was a member of the hospital ethics committee.
