Dan Charlton is the Director of EDF-RE’s Performance and Reliability Engineering (PRE) department. He received a degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in renewable energy from California Polytechnic University – Pomona and began his wind career in 2001 when he worked as a field engineer for Enron/GE Wind working on fleet reliability and performance issues on the 1.5 MW fleet. In 2007 he was hired to start up and lead the Fleet Reliability Engineering team at Clipper Wind Power and was instrumental in building a scalable and sustainable data infrastructure that would later enable a deep understanding of the Clipper fleet performance and reliability. In 2013 Dan joined EDF-RE to expand the capabilities of the engineering team with a focus on quantification and analysis of operational data to increase production revenue on wind and solar assets.
