Mike´s safety career began when he was the safety Petty Officer for the Sonar division. After the Navy, Mike graduated in 1996 from St. Cloud State University with a B.S. in Biology with a Physiology emphasis. Mike started with OSHA in 1997 as an Industrial Hygienist and currently works out of the Madison, WI Area Office. Since 1997 Mike was part of the World Trade Center and Hurricane Katrina emergency responses. Also, four of his cases were presented at the AIHA national conference Glen Williamson/OSHAs Most Interesting Cases forum, received two U.S. Department of Labor Secretary’s Exceptional Achievement Awards, and U.S.Dept. of Labor and Region 5 Innovator of the Year awards.
