Declan Flanagan is founder and CEO of Lincoln Clean Energy (LCE), a developer, owner and operator of clean energy projects. Through 2017 LCE has developed and financed wind and solar power projects representing more than $2 billion in capital investment. In December 2015, LCE was acquired by I Squared Capital and announced plans to deploy $250 million in equity investments through 2018. Previously Declan served as CEO of the North American business of German utility E.On. Declan joined E.On in 2007 through its acquisition of Airtricity North America where he also served as CEO, having previously held various senior management positions with Airtricity in Europe before relocating to the US in 2003 to establish Airtricity North America. In four years from a standing start, Airtricity North America grew to a valuation of $1.4 billion at the time of its sale. Declan is a former member of the boards of both the American Wind Energy Association and the Solar Energy Industry Association and has also served a Grand Final Judge in the MIT Clean Energy Prize. Declan holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from the National University of Ireland, an M.Sc. from the University of Ulster and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
