As Communications Director at Chipotle, Chris Arnold oversees a variety of external communications, including media relations, government relations and public affairs, and philanthropic programs for the national burrito restaurant. He is an architect of the company’s brand and external messaging, and a counselor to the company’s executive team. His efforts have made Chipotle a mainstay in opinion-leading media (featured in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, TIME Magazine, Newsweek, Washington Post, Investor’s Business Daily, and USA Today), food and specialty media (Gourmet, Saveur, Bon Appetit, Food & Wine, Esquire, Good Magazine) national network and cable news (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, and CNBC) and a host of local and regional media outlets from coast to coast. He has coordinated testimony before Congressional committees and orchestrated Capital Hill meetings, established and managed partnerships with philanthropic and thought leadership organizations, authored executive speeches, secured speaking engagements at prominent, national conferences and programs, developed a social media vision and strategy for the company, and managed communications through crisis situations. In addition to his role as Communications Director at Chipotle, Chris also serves as Secretary of the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation, where he provides strategic oversight for the foundation and serves as liaison between the philanthropic community and the foundation board of directors. Chris has more than 20 years of public relations and communications experience, working with agencies and on the corporate side. He has won numerous awards for his work, and is actively involved in the community and the industry. Chris has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver. He is an aspiring foodie with an affinity for restaurants and cooking, and a wannabe sommelier.
