Named one of the industry’s “Top 25 Disruptors” in 2015 by Supermarket News, Suzy Monford is the CEO of Andronico’s Community Markets, the San Francisco / Bay Area chain of specialty food stores founded in Berkeley in 1929. She is also the creator of the newly launched “Sweat.Works Global Gym” mobile app and it’s bespoke “FitBank” program, the first of a kind food + fitness ecosystem. Premiered throughout San Francisco by Andronico’s in January, “FitBank” is the explosive new mobile program that incentivizes and rewards people for shopping, eating and working out. A highly sought executive recognized for the ability to innovate across key global growth markets, Monford has been recruited by leading corporations in Australia, United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. Having begun her career in the restaurant industry with leadership roles including CEO/president for Cheers Inc., a restaurant corporation in Texas, she began her supermarket career at H-E-B Central Market, and later as the director of Deli, Cheese and Prepared Foods for H-E-B Grocery Company, the largest privately held grocer in the U. S. She is passionate about creating healthy communities and served on the executive board of directors for both the San Antonio Mayor’s Fitness Council and the YMCA. She holds a BA in economics from the University of Texas at Austin, is a Certified Holistic Health Coach under the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, and an internationally certified group exercise instructor.
