Shainna Ali is a third-year doctoral student at the University of Central Florida. Ali holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology. During her academic experience, Shainna has researched diversity, competencies, trauma, addictions, and creativity in counseling. Ali is the President for the Florida Association for Multicultural Counseling in development, the Graduate Student Committee Chair of the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors, the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Counseling’s Social Justice Committee, and the Past-President of the University of Central Florida’s Counselor Education Doctoral Student Organization.
