Robert has 22 years of experience in Safety and Health. Graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in Chemistry and a minor in Environmental Science. Started his safety career with Beaulieu of America, a large carpet manufacturer, in 1997 as the Safety Manager for the raw materials division. At Beaulieu, he managed the safety activities of nine facilities and approximately 3,000 employees. He also managed four Safety Supervisors between the nine facilities. He started working for EmployBridge in June of 1999 as the Loss Prevention Manager for the Southeast Region at the regional office in Knoxville, TN. He was promoted to the Director of Safety and Loss Prevention in 2005 and moved to the Atlanta corporate office. In October of 2015, he was promoted to VP of Safety at EmployBridge. He has been an OSHA authorized Outreach Trainer for General Industry since 1998 and conducted over 200 OSHA 10-Hour General Industry classes. He’s a member of the American Staffing Association Safety Committee and has been working with OSHA’s Leadership on the OSHA Temporary Worker Initiative and the alliance between ASA and OSHA. Robert was a co-presenter at the 2016 ASSE Safety Conference and the subject was OSHA’s Initiative to Protect Temporary Workers. The session provided the attendees a unique perspective on safety in the temporary staffing industry and OSHA’s initiative to protect temporary workers. The presentation covered: staffing industry history and statistics; OSHA’s Temporary Worker Initiative; and how host employers can protect temporary employees and ensure compliance with OSHA.
