Deb Bodeau is a Senior Principal Cybersecurity Engineer at the MITRE Corporation. Deb joined MITRE in 1984 after completing her M.S. in mathematics at the University of Chicago, performing risk and impact assessments at Argonne National Laboratory, and performing software engineering at the Academy for Interscience Methodology in Chicago. At MITRE, Deb has applied her extensive knowledge of risk management and cyber security to a wide variety of MITRE sponsors and programs, with a focus on mission assurance engineering and cyber resiliency. Deb has served as Principal Investigator for multiple projects in MITRE’s Innovation Program. She has presented MITRE’s Cyber Resiliency Engineering Framework CREF) in numerous venues, has contributed to a variety of MITRE publications on cyber resiliency, and serves on the organizing committee for the Annual Secure and Resilient Cyber Architectures Invitational hosted by MITRE. Deb currently is focusing on modifications to NIST SP 800-160 Volume 2: Systems Security Engineering: Cyber Resiliency Considerations for the Engineering of Trustworthy Secure Systems. She is also involved in research to advance measuring the effectiveness of cyber resiliency. Deb is also co-developer of MITRE’s Cyber Prep 2.0 methodology for defining an organization’s preparedness strategy against advanced cyber threats.
