Emory University
Dr. Michael Woodworth earned his medical degree from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and completed residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Hospital. He completed the majority of his clinical infectious diseases fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco and is completing his research fellowship training at Emory University. He has worked on the clinical epidemiology of the cholera epidemic in Port Au Prince, Haiti and experience with Nocardia infections at Duke University. His current research is focused on the safety of fecal microbiota transplantation in solid organ transplant recipients and the role of the human gut microbiome in infection and colonization with multidrug resistant organisms. He is a co-investigator with his mentor Dr. Colleen Kraft on a randomized clinical trial of fecal microbiota transplantation for gut colonization with drug-resistant organisms.
