Jeff Cowan Director, Industry Development, GS1 US Jeff Cowan is an Industry Engagement Director at GS1 US. In this position, he works with the fresh food industries to improve product traceability and supply chain visibility through the adoption of GS1 US Standards. He also leads the GS1 US National Data Quality Program, helping companies establish and sustain effective data quality programs. By leading discussion groups, developing educational resources, and communicating supply chain best practices, Mr. Cowan facilitates collaboration among trading partners and industry associations. Mr. Cowan has more than 30 years of supply chain experience including demand planning, production planning, inventory management, warehouse operations, order management, transportation, customer service, and business integration. Prior to joining GS1 US, he held integral management roles in the logistics and supply chain divisions of various consumer packaged goods companies including Unilever, Pinnacle Foods, Ultimate Juice Company, Kraft Foods, and Nabisco. In each of these roles, Mr. Cowan was acknowledged for aligning strategic planning initiatives with corporate objectives to improve the bottom line and ensure a positive customer experience. He is a frequent speaker at industry association conferences such as the International Retail User Group Annual Conference and the Southwest Meat Association mid-year conference on the topics of food traceability and supply chain visibility. Mr. Cowan received his bachelor of science in logistics from The Pennsylvania State University and completed the Logistics Executive Management Program at The Ohio State University.
