Mr. Hecklau is a Principal with Environmental Design & Research (EDR), an environmental planning & and design firm based in Syracuse, New York. He has 30 years of environmental consulting experience, the majority of which has focused on the environmental effects of energy generation and transmission projects. Since the early 1990’s, Mr. Hecklau has overseen the majority of EDR’s visual impact assessment projects. These projects have evaluated the visibility and visual impact of a variety of proposed facilities, including highways, communication towers, power plants, landfills, transmission lines and over 50 commercial wind projects.
