Marni is the principal at Karlin Strategic Consulting. She formerly developed and implemented government affairs strategies in the interest of OTA’s mission and its members, engaging Congress and federal and state agencies to further those policy goals. She served as the North American representative on the International Working Group on Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and is a member of Food Policy Action’s Vote Advisory Council. Marni joined OTA from the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she spent over three years as counsel to Senator Herb Kohl. A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Marni graduated from The George Washington University, with a degree in International Affairs, and received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. Before joining OTA, she spent 11 years in private and government legal practice. Besides her professional skills she has a passion for sustainable and organic food, and received a Culinary Arts diploma from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France.
