Anthony began his life-long career in the retail grocery business working at the local neighborhood store. He spend many years in store management at Ball’s Food Stores . After sixteen years as store director and being the only director to manage all three formats, Anthony became a District Director for Ball’s Food Stores. In 2018, after 28 years in the retail grocery business, Anthony accepted a position as District Sales Manager for Associated Wholesales Grocers (AWG) and shortly after became a category manager for Hispanic and International foods. This category generates over $125 million in yearly retail sales for our stores and it continues to grow rapidly. His key focuses are procuring the right product selection and assisting retailers in executing an Authentic Hispanic merchandising program in their stores. In 2000, Anthony became one of the first Spanish speaking Police Officers (part time) in Northeast Johnson County Kansas. He continues to serve the community with dignity and honor as a patrol officer for nearly 20 years. His commitment to others has been his motivation to allow him to serve dual careers. Anthony’s exceptional attitude and undeniable work ethic has awarded him many recognitions. Some of these are – FMI Store Manager of the Year award, Most Improved Store Profits award, Distinguished Service award, Community Service award, Disaster Relief Team award, Top Gun – Marksmanship award and Officer of the Year award.
