Montrice Godard Yakimov is the Chief of Information Technology Risk, Governance and Policy at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In this role Montrice leads the CIO Organization’s process to identify and measure its most significant IT risks, consistent with the FDIC’s risk appetite statement and enterprise risk management program. She also leads the CIO Organization’s internal control assessment and audit programs, responsible for improving the organization’s business processes, internal controls, and risk management strategies. Prior to joining the FDIC, Montrice served as the Chief Risk Officer for the US Treasury Department’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service where her responsibilities included leading enterprise strategies to mitigate significant risks, conducting targeted risk analyses of major IT applications and broader risks that could deter the achievement of strategic objectives, and serving as Chairman of the Enterprise Risk Management Working Group. Prior to joining the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Montrice served as a Principal in the consulting firm, Booz Allen Hamilton where she oversaw a portfolio that provided consulting services to Federal Banking Agencies that oversee national banks and federal credit unions. She also provided consulting support to the US Treasury Department Bureaus and Offices and the US Department of Commerce on a broad range of high impact strategic assessments and projects. Montrice’s background also includes regulation and oversight roles in commercial banking including serving as Managing Director for Compliance and Consumer Protection at the Office of Thrift Supervision, Central Manager of the Consumer Affairs Program at the Federal Reserve Board, and as Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for the Conference of State Bank Supervisors – a national organization that represents state financial services regulators in Washington DC.
