Colonel Haynes is from Reno, Nevada. He graduated from the University of Nevada in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. A career signal officer, Colonel Haynes is currently serving as the US Army NETCOM Army Global Modernization Team Director. He was previously the Chief of Cybersecurity for 7th Signal Command (Theater) after serving as the US Army Central Command (Forward) G6 Chief of Operations. COL Haynes is a founding member of US Cyber Command serving as the Deputy Director for Joint Operations at Fort Meade, Maryland, as well as the Senior Cyber Battle Captain for USCYBERCOM and Joint Task Force - Global Network Operations. Colonel Haynes has served in key positions at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels of the US Army: 501st Signal Company, Camp Humphreys, Korea; 13th Signal Battalion and HQs, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, TX; Stabilization Force 4 & 5, Bosnia-Herzegovina; HQs 7th Signal Brigade and Alpha Company, 72d Signal Battalion, Mannheim Germany; 91st Training Support Division, Salt Lake City, UT; 362d Armor BN, Fort Carson , CO; 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, KS; and HQs, Department of the Army G3. He has commanded forces in JTF-Juniper Cobra (Operation Iraqi Freedom), deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and served in Operation Joint Guard (Bosnia-Herzegovina). His military education includes the Signal Officer's Basic Course, Captain's Career Course, Command and General Staff College, Advanced Operations Warfighter Course, and the Joint & Combined Warfare School. He holds a Master's Degree in Military Arts and Science. He is also a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) and certified Project Manager Professional (PMP). Colonel Haynes and his wife, Lori, have been married for 12 years and have one son, Raffaele, who is a combat veteran US Marine.
