Colonel Charles B. Chalfont received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering from The United States Military Academy, West Point, New York in May 1994. He received his Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri at Rolla, MO in 1998. He also received a Master of Science Degree in Counseling and Leader Development from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus, New York in 2004. He is a graduate of the Engineer Officer Basic and Engineer Advanced Courses, the Sapper Leader Course, the Combined Arms Services Staff School, the Command and General Staff College, and the Army’s Telecom Systems Engineering Course. For over 23 years of active commissioned service, Colonel Chalfont has served in two major fields, combat engineering, and communications to include a major combat operation. His assignments include tours at Fort Leonard Wood, Fort Knox, Camp Red Cloud Korea, Fort Carson, Fort Jackson, West Point, Fort Gordon, Fort Hood, Iraq, Fort Meade, and the Pentagon. Key positions held as a combat engineer include Line Platoon Leader, Support Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Assistant Brigade Engineer, and Company Commander. While stationed at Fort Hood, he was deployed to Camp Liberty, Iraq with the First Cavalry Division as the Division Network Engineer. At Ft. Meade, Maryland he held a variety of positions culminating with Chief of Current Operations in the DISA Command Center. Currently, he serves in the Army CIO / G6 as the Chief of the Enterprise Integration Division, responsible for the Army’s migration to JRSS and implementation of Windows 10 operating system. Colonel Chalfont’s awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Staff Identification Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Sapper Tab.
