Publisher, Editor, and Chairman of the Editorial Advisory Panel for the Marine Corps Gazette
Colonel Chris “Woody” Woodbridge devoted 30 years to the Marine Corps as an Infantry Officer and MAGTF Planner, retiring in 2015 to assume the editorial duties he holds today at the Marine Corps Gazette. At those offices the Colonel is Publisher, Editor, and Chairman of the Editorial Advisory Panel. While a Marine, his numerous positions in staff and command included service at the executive levels of the Marine Corps Combat Development Command, Training and Education Command and Marine Corps University assignments--first as Deputy and then as Director--of the prestigious School of Advanced Warfighting. His time in the operating forces have all been in 1st Marine Division including as a platoon commander in 1st Battalion 7th Marines during DESERT STORM, two MEU(SOC) deployments as a company commander in 1st Battalion 1st Marines, and later command of 1st Battalion 7th Marines in Iraq during two OIF deployments.
