Mr. Duane Shugars

Duane Shugars is the Vice President of Operations for Enlighten IT Consulting (EITC), a MacB company. He is responsible for managing corporate and business development, as well as strategic planning, operational and program management, and sales and marketing initiatives. Through his work on distributed cloud and data fusion projects for the Intelligence Community (IC) and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) over the last 10 years, Mr. Shugars has extensive knowledge of the unique challenges facing the nation in defending its networks and critical mission systems, and the approach and transformation of its defensive cyber operations that must occur to meet these challenges. He has held executive and strategic development roles at leading firms supporting the IC for more than 30 years. Previously, Mr. Shugars founded DSMCi and Concentia Digital, companies that developed solutions for critical gaps in the broadcast and healthcare markets. Before joining the private sector, he spent nine years working as a Government civilian while serving in the U.S. Army Reserve. Mr. Shugars earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Baltimore, and also completed his master’s degree in Technology Management from the university in 1995. He is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and ScrumMaster.
