LTC Ron Gruettner, BUND

LTC Ron Gruettner was born in Germany. He was educated at Grammar School, entered the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) at Signal Battalion 6, Neumuenster in 1993 and was commissioned into Signal in July 1996. As a junior officer he served as a Platoon Leader and S2 Officer at Signal Battalion 801, Neubrandenburg. He deployed to Kosovo as Leader Signal Centre, MNBde(S) at Prizren. Next he was appointed as IT Officer at Air Mechanized Brigade 1, Fritzlar and deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2004 as Signal Staff Officer at German HQ, Sarajevo. He attended the Staff College of the Bundeswehr at Hamburg in 2005 before joining Attack Helicopter Regiment 36 as their Signal and IT Staff Officer. In 2009 he assumes the leading of the Liaison Branch at Armed Forces Command, Koblenz. From 2013 he served as an IT Equipment Officer at Federal Office of the Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support. He was responsible for Program Management of Bundeswehr IT Systems for Missions. LTC Gruettner is currently serving as the Cyber CoE, Lessons and Best Practices Chief, Doctrine Division, CDID.
