COL Paul “Tim” Brooks is the Mission Assurance Division Chief, Department of the Army Management Office – Cyber. Prior to this assignment, he served as the G-7, 8th Army, coordinating Information Operations (IO) activities and strategic communications for the command. COL Brooks was previously assigned as the IO Plans and Policy Lead for the Operations Division of the NATO International Military Staff. In this role, he served as the Secretary for a variety of committees and working groups tasked with developing Alliance policy and doctrine. Originally commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in the Armor Corps, COL Brooks transitioned to the Military Intelligence Corps in 1994 and later to IO. He served in a variety of intelligence positions in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). He deployed with the 1st Brigade, 101st in 1996 in support of the UN Mission in Haiti. Later, he was assigned to the Battle Command Training Program as an Observer-Trainer where he worked with Army National Guard units throughout the U.S. He served with the 2nd Infantry as the division IO Officer before being reassigned to the 1st Cavalry where he served as the Effects Coordinator for the 3rd “Greywolf” Brigade, the Secretary to the General Staff and the Division G-7. While assigned to the 1st Cavalry he deployed to Iraq twice. A graduate of the U.S. Army War College, COL Brooks was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. He received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and an M.S, in Information Operations from the Naval Post Graduate School. COL Brooks is married to the former Ms. Kimberly Lawrence of New Orleans, Louisiana. They have one daughter, Darby, who is 15 years old.
