Colonel Tom Nelson, U.S. Army (Ret.), runs DC operations for BMNT Partners, a Silicon Valley company which connects problems with people and technology to solve challenging national security problems. Tom has a tremendous breadth of experience over his 24-year professional career, which he gained from a wide spectrum of assignments at all levels of the military. He’s led infantry soldiers in multiple leadership roles, developed strategy and policy on the Joint Staff and at the National Security Council, planned and executed security operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and led future operations planning and the Strategic Initiatives Group at Army Cyber Command. Tom has a BS in Economics from the United States Military Academy, a MS in Economics from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and was a National Security Fellow at Stanford University.
