Jackie M. Peer earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Washington State University and currently serves at OMICRON electronics as the Head of Strategic Business Development in North America. Prior to her employment at OMICRON, Ms. Peer worked over two decades for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) where she held a variety of leadership positions in R&D, sales, and technical marketing, and as director of SEL’s Modern Solutions Power Systems Conference and SEL University. Ms. Peer is a senior member of IEEE and the Society of Women Engineers, IEEE Women in Engineering (WiE) member, and board member for IEEE Women in Power (WiP), IEEE Foundation and the Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA). Ms. Peer is the Chief Volunteer Officer (a.k.a., Board President) for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis Clark Valley serving over 4,000 area youth. In 2014, Ms. Peer received The Manufacturing Institute’s Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Award, which recognizes women in those four disciplines who have made significant achievements in manufacturing. Just as Ms. Peer is a philanthropist and advocate for youth, she is equally passionate about gender diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
