LCDR Evans, a native of Williamsburg, Virginia, received his commission from the United States Naval Academy in 2003. Following graduation, LCDR Evans completed the Submarine Officer training pipeline before reporting to USS Honolulu (SSN 718) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. While onboard he qualified as a Submarine Warfare Officer and was certified as a Nuclear Engineering Officer by Naval Reactors. Following his tour on USS Honolulu, LCDR Evans served as the Engineer Officer and as a Prospective Nuclear Engineering Officer instructor at the Submarine Learning Facility in Norfolk, Virginia. Following his assignment in Norfolk, LCDR Evans laterally transferred to the Information Professional community and was assigned to OPNAV N2/N6, where he qualified as an Information Warfare Officer. While at OPNAV he served as the Narrowband Satellite Communications Requirements Officer, managing the resourcing and requirements for nine programs of record, including the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS). His next operational assignment was as the Flag Communications and Space Operations Officer on the staff of Commander, Carrier Strike Group Twelve. Following this operational assignment, LCDR Evans was selected to serve as Deputy Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare (OPNAV N2/N6). After completing his tour as a Deputy Executive Assistant, LCDR Evans reported to his current Joint assignment at U.S. Cyber Command. LCDR Evans holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy and advanced degrees from Johns Hopkins University, Carnegie Mellon University, and the Naval War College. He is also a graduate of the Joint and Combined Warfighting School, a member of the Navy’s Space Cadre community and holds a Defense Acquisition Workforce Certification in Program Management.
