Emily Coborn is Vice President of Operations East at St. Cloud, MN-based Coborn’s Inc., an employee-owned independent grocery retail company operating more than 120 retail locations throughout the upper Midwest, including 62 Coborn’s, Cash Wise Foods, Marketplace Foods, Hornbacher’s and Save-a-Lot grocery stores, an online grocery ordering and delivery service, CobornsDelivers, and more. Emily is the first fifth generation of the Coborn family to join the company. Prior to serving as Vice President of Operations East, Emily was the Vice President of Fresh Merchandising; leading the Meat and Seafood, Produce, Floral, Deli, and Bakery departments. Emily previously served as a District Manager, overseeing 10 stores across Minnesota. She also held the role of Director of Topco Program Management, managing the company’s private brands initiatives. Emily spent two years as the company’s Communications Manager as well, creating internal and external communications strategies and serving as company spokesperson. Before joining Coborn’s, Inc. in April 2011, Emily served in Operations Communications and Corporate Communications roles at Eden Prairie, MN-based SUPERVALU for several years. Emily is on the board of directors for Second Harvest Heartland, as well as United Way of Central Minnesota. She is a graduate of Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota with a Master’s in Business Administration and a graduate of College of St. Benedict with bachelor’s degrees in Communications and Spanish.
