After college in Texas and Colorado, Lee entered the imprinted sportswear industry through family retail stores in Vail, Colo. After leaving Vail, In 1987, Lee, and her brother Keith, exhibited at their first ISS Show showing the beginning of their award-winning collection of stock designs, which featured low-stitch designs that ran well and looked beautiful! The low-stitch designs revolutionized the Industry and the Balboa Collection grew to include award-winning designs sold worldwide. In 2002, both Lee and her late brother Keith, were inducted into the Embroidery Hall of Fame for their "excellence in embroidery and the quality of their teaching". Keith's mantra, "to pass on what we have learned, because we won't be here forever," was a prophecy that was fulfilled all too soon. Keith passed on in 2009, leaving Lee to carry on the mission. Lee's digitizing classes also are sold worldwide and have been instrumental in her being named one of the 20 most creative in our industry and, for five years, one of the 75 Most Influential. Her ability to think outside of the box, and to make digitizing fulfilling, relevant and easy to understand, make her seminars worth attending whether you are just beginning or have been digitizing for years.
