D. Scott Scovira holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (1985). He is a 30-year plus member of the International Society of Explosives Engineers and the Society of Mining Engineers. Scott has worked for Orica and predecessor companies since 1985. Scott hired on with the Atlas Powder Company as the sales representative responsible for the Pacific Northwest and Alaska from 1985 to 1987. He then served with ICI Explosives USA as Western Region Technical Representative from 1988 to 1993, and was responsible for technical services in 12 western states plus Alaska, Hawaii, and South Pacific. From 1993 to 1997, Scott held the position of Senior Technical Services Engineer for ICI Australia?s Asia Pacific Division and provided technical services to major mining and construction clients in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Southeast Asia. From 1997 to 2002, Scott was assigned the position of Orica USA?s Manager Technical Services, Surface and Underground Mining and concentrated on precious metals and open cast coal mines in the Western United States. Scott was the NA Director of Technical Services from 2002 to 2011, Global Blasting Services ? Implementation Manager from 2011 to 2014, and is currently Technical Solutions Manager for NA.
