Dr. Yingchen Zhang is a group manager and principle researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. He has over 10 years of experience in power industry in the areas of power system operation and planning, renewable integration, sensing and monitoring. He authored over 50 peer reviewed publications and holds one U.S. patent. His key areas of expertise lie in predictive analytics for energy systems, advanced energy management system for future grids, the impact of large-scale integration of renewable energies on power system, sensing and analysis of a system with high renewable penetration. Dr. Zhang previously worked for the California ISO developing and implementing State Estimator and Network Applications. Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2010. Dr. Zhang is a senior member of IEEE and serves as an editor for the IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy. He has co-organized multiple conferences.
