John Matejcek is a risk manager at Best Buy, focusing on workers’ compensation. Since joining Best Buy in 2014, he has driven improvements in several elements of the national workers’ compensation program, including claims and litigation management. Previously, he was risk manager at a national construction firm where he developed, implemented and managed all aspects of the insurance and risk management program. Earlier, Mr. Matejcek was a workers’ compensation claims examiner with a leading third-party administrator and a construction claims specialist with a major global insurer. During his career, he has been involved in all facets of risk management, driving consistent, measured improvements in risk mitigation, loss prevention, and regulatory compliance. He earned a B.A. in business administration from the University of St. Thomas – Opus College of Business and holds the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation.
